What They Say About Us

(Translated by Google) We had a wonderful time at the ranch! The rooms and common areas were incredibly cozy and beautifully furnished! We felt very comfortable. Breakfast was included in the price and was delicious. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. In the evenings, there were campfires where you could chat with the other guests. Yosemite was easily accessible from the ranch. We would highly recommend it to everyone and would definitely come back ourselves!

This place is nicely located near Yosemite, great customer service, friendly staff, good breakfast selection, love the night sounds and the accessibility to the pool. The only feedback I would give would be a upgrade to the rooms when it comes to flooring and decor.

I initially came here for one night, but since we arrived quite late, I decided to extend our stay for one more night. I was advised by the front desk to make a separate reservation through Booking.com, which I did. For the first reservation, I was charged a $100 security deposit, although I'm still not sure what it was for. There was no minibar in the room, not even complimentary bottled water, so there was practically nothing that could be consumed. I assume the deposit was meant to cover possible damage to the room, which I understood. Early the next morning, I informed the front desk that I had completed the second reservation and that we would be spending the entire day in Yosemite National Park. When we returned in the evening, our key cards had been deactivated. The receptionist told me that I had to pay another $100 security deposit because this was considered a new reservation—even though she was the one who had instructed me to make it through Booking.com. I explained that this didn't seem reasonable since I had already paid a deposit. I suggested that they could simply inspect the room, as we had only slept there and left. I also asked what would happen if I didn't have enough money available to have another $100 blocked on my card for two weeks. Her response was that my reservation would be canceled. Honestly, it felt like I was talking to a robot rather than a person. In the end, I handed over my card because it wasn't about the money—it was about the principle. I also told her that I intended to leave an honest review describing exactly what had happened. At that point, she handed my card back without charging a second deposit. I'm generally not a demanding person, and I probably wouldn't have written any review at all—positive or negative—but this inflexible and illogical attitude completely spoiled my day. As for the room, it was not cleaned between the two reservations. If the hotel insists on treating it as a new check-out and check-in that requires another security deposit, then at the very least the room should have been serviced. There was no complimentary water, no coffee maker, no refrigerator, and no safe in the room. Breakfast was also disappointing. Other than jam and cereal, there was very little to eat. The boiled eggs were ice cold, as if they had been cooked the day before (I came down for breakfast at 6:30 a.m.). The restroom next to the breakfast area was dirty, the trash bin was overflowing, and there was no toilet paper. I had to leave the restroom and ask the staff for some. It's a real shame because the location is beautiful and has so much potential.

Pro: great staff & service, clean rooms. Basic breakfast. Con: tiny room - which was expected from other reviews. But wish had hooks to hang clothes and some hangers in tiny closet. Also wash basin was so high that brushing was difficult. Also they didn’t have a foot stool, I’m 5’1”

Lovely place. I gave three stars to the room because the pillows are awful - too big and too firm.

Sierra Sky Ranch was our amazing little find. Very close to Oakhurst and lake Bass. We absolutely loved the ambience of this heritage property. The woody ranch vibe , the little library and game room by the fire place, the open lawn and the smiling faces. They all made our stay memorable. A boutique stay experience for sure!

Great place when visiting Yosemite National Park. We stayed for two nights and had the chance to hang out at the pool as well as sitting around a camp fire grilling marsh mellows in the evening. The staff was very friendly and supported us with all of our inquiries.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. But not for light sleepers. The noise seeps through every wood surface and the breakfast not worth the calories.

I had the pleasure of getting married at Sierra Sky Ranch this past June. Needless to say it was the best day of my life. Not only because I was marrying my best friend but because SSR was the perfect venue! The staff are all lovely people who went above and beyond to accommodate my guests and I. We rented out the entire hotel for the event and were truly able to make the space our own. Not that we had to do much, the hotel is stunning on its own. If you are looking for an intimate and charming place to stay or have an event, SSR is it! The rooms are cozy and full of character, the views are stunning and the grounds are beautiful. Hang out at the pool or by the creek then relax on the lawn and have a bonfire. There is something for everyone. This place will forever hold a piece of my heart. Thank you Amber, Marlo, Jamie and team. - Ryan and Ben Sumner
